MYOFASCIAL ACOUSTIC COMPRESSION THERAPY

Have you ever had an area massaged or treated with any modality but it just seemed like the treatment wasn’t quite getting it? We have a way to treat those areas and also confirm we are actually treating the problem area. Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy treats the problem and confirms the location of the problem area. The patient does not feel anything during treatments when treating healthy and hydrated tissue. The patient will feel a dull aching feeling when it passes over a compromised area of tissue making it easy to know the correct spot was located. The soft tissue injury is being treated directly. 

PiezoWave – MyACT is Acoustic Compression Therapy using sound waves to remodel tissue at the cellular level addressing a variety of conditions including scar tissue, calcification, tendinopathy, bursitis, capsulations, plantar fasciitis, chronic pain and more.

PiezoWave is the same conceptual technology as Lithotripsy used to break up kidney stones, but with more pinpoint accuracy. Think of a submarine at the bottom of the ocean, they can only  see in front of them by sending out sonar sound waves to identify what is in front of them by the return signal to the sub. This is the same concept with MyACT. 

The PiezoWave provides biomechanical feedback from the patient during the treatment to help the therapist confirm  the correct spot has been located. When the compromised tissue has been found, the patient feels a dull aching feeling almost like a toothache or pushing on a bruise. At this point the patient is asked their pain level on a scale of 1 -10. The patient should tolerate a level between 5 and 7. If the patient feels 8 or higher, the therapist immediately moves off the injury site and returns 30 seconds to allow the nerve signals to relax. After the pain level subsides or maintains between 5 and 7,  several pulses will be administered until the pain level reduces to between 1 and 2 which happens in 30 to 45 seconds.
